Institute of Geology and Geoinformation

There are more than four thousand experts in the field of geology, geophysics, hydrogeology and the use of natural resources. There are 11 departments, and 9 programs. The Students' Academy of Sciences (the only one in Russia) was founded here. The lecturers at the Institute and the heads of thedepartments are groundbreakers in their field, who have discovered many oil and gas deposits, and possess unique experience in forecasting and exploration.

Today the institute takes a leading role in the creation and development of new methods of geology and geophysics in the oil and gas sector. This activity is extremely important, since without exploration and verification of natural resource reserves no new discoveries will be made. This applies to any prospective oil and gas area in the world. Theoretical knowledge, the ability to operate the latest equipment and to follow the research approach to work, is the calling card of our graduates.
